Liquid Medium is a free online magazine for marine aquarists, with an
emphasis on the keeping of reef aquariums. This is a different kind
of magazine though, as it is written for hobbyists with all levels of
experience, and is not produced with making a profit in mind. It's
also different because essentially all of the content is produced by
just two people - James Fatherree, M.Sc. and David Flanigan, Ph.D.

James
is a science instructor at Hillsborough
Community College in Tampa, Florida, where he teaches Earth
Science, Environmental Science, and Astronomy. But, he is also an
avid and experienced marine aquarium hobbyist, photographer,
and writer.
He's been into aquariums since childhood and has been keeping marine
aquariums since 1991. He has managed a large aquarium shop and worked
as a diver/collector for an aquarium livestock wholesaler, too.
In addition, James has been writing magazine articles for aquarium
periodicals in the U.S. and Europe since 1997, has been a monthly
columnist and photographer for Tropical
Fish Hobbyist magazine since 1999, and has written and illustrated
6 books on marine aquariums and reef organisms, with a seventh in
the works. |

David
is also a science instructor at H.C.C., where he teaches Modern
Chemistry and Organic Chemistry I and II. He's been keeping aquariums
since his college days, but made the move into reef aquariums since
then. Being a chemist, Dave has a particular interest in marine
aquarium chemistry.
